RAPID CITY, S.D. – The Black Hills Half-Mile by Dunlop scheduled to run on Tuesday at Rapid City Speedway in Rapid City, S.D. was canceled due to inclement weather.
Officials from AMA Pro Racing and the promoter of the Black Hills Half-Mile by Dunlop deemed the track unsafe to compete on Tuesday night, as well as Wednesday, after heavy rainfall hit the Midwest venue just before Opening Ceremonies were set to kick off.
“The rainfall tonight was so heavy that it would be impossible to get the track ready for racing tomorrow even if there was to be perfect weather,” said Dan Johnsen, Director of AMA Pro Flat Track. “We caught some bad luck today, it’s very unfortunate but that’s really all it comes down to.”
AMA Pro Flat Track heads to Indianapolis for the Indy Mile this Friday, Aug. 8. For tickets and more information regarding the event, please visit http://www.familyevents.com/event/264.
