@TriumphAmerica • @KennyRiedmann42 • @CDNSuperbike • @Calabogiemotors • ATLANTA (June 11, 2015) – Kenny Riedmann and Bobby Fong will mount their Triumph Daytona 675Rs this weekend at the season-opening Canadian Superbike Championship (CSBK) and Round 5 of the MotoAmerica AMA/FIM North American Road Racing Championship, respectively, June 12-14.
As the 2014 CSBK Pro Sport Bike Champion, Kenny Riedmann begins the 2015 campaign at Calabogie Motorsports Park, in Calabogie, Ottawa, which will see him carry the #1 plate on his Riedmann Management / GE Capital / Castrol / Triumph Daytona 675R. Riedmann made history last year securing Triumph’s first championship in Canada in modern, recorded racing history.
“I’ve been really anxious to get the season started, especially after watching the MotoAmerica series start two months ago,” said Kenny Riedmann. “It felt great to get my first pro championship last year and the goal for this year is to get another for Triumph.”
Bobby Fong, #50 Latus Motors Racing / Castrol / Triumph, and his team head to the Triumph Superbike Challenge at the scenic Barber Motorsports Park near Birmingham, Ala., after his best race weekend of the season with two top-five finishes at Road America. Fong currently sits 8th in the MotoAmerica Supersport points standings and, after last year’s podium finish, hopes to continue his success at Barber.
“The races at Road America felt like they were a turning point in my season, 4th and 5th place finishes have really given me some confidence heading to a track where I know I can be successful,” said Bobby Fong. “The team has been great, my health is at 100%, and I’ll be racing for the top step of the podium at the Triumph Superbike Challenge.”
Along with an action packed weekend of racing at the Triumph Superbike Challenge, a Triumph motorcycle owners fan ride will take place on Saturday after the on track racing action with Bobby Fong leading the pack for a parade lap around the 17-turn race track. Any motorcycle owner attending the races is encouraged to take advantage of this special opportunity. It is at no charge to Triumph owners and $20 for all other riders. A Triumph Motorcycle Corral reserved parking area in the FanZone is also available to Triumph owners.
Through VETMotorsports, Latus Motors Racing has hired Sgt. Chad C. for the entirety of the MotoAmerica season as a crew member of the team. Sgt. Chad C. was deployed for Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom as part of the Marine Corps. As a result of the on-track performance of Triumph teams this season, donations to VETMotorsports have totaled $2,050 thus far from Castrol’s VETMotorsports Performance Match Fund.
The CSBK Pro Sport Bike race will take place the afternoon of Sunday, June 12 and ticket information for the first round of the championship can be found at www.CSBK.ca.
