@finnmotorsports •(October 3, 2016)- Multi-time Canadian national mini road racing champion, Jonathan Finn, has returned from Europe after competing in the final round of the Dodici Pollici Itlaian Cup this past September 11 earning two top 10 finishes at the Ala Circuit located east of Milan Italy.

After overcoming a high side crash during the latter sessions of Saturday’s practice which damaged the front end of his GRC MiniGP 50 race bike, Finn’s bike would not be repaired in time to for him to finish the practice session.

“That was my first big high-side” said Finn. “Up to that point we had a solid setup, the bike was really feeling good and my lap times were in the top five. I felt bad for the team because they had to work hard to repair my bike to get me out to see how the front of the bike felt after the repairs.”

Finn would have to sacrifice Sunday mornings qualifying practice to make the necessary changes to the bike for the race.

Finn would eventually qualify on the outside of the third row of the grid in ninth.

“Even with my crash during Saturdays’ practice, I was happy to qualify in the top 10 and being on the outside of the third row meant I had a good run-in to the first corner” said Finn.

In both races Finn would have to push through problems with the front end of the bike from the damage sustained the day before, eventually being able to consolidate and earn two ninth place finishes. Having missed two races during the season, Jonathan Finn completed the 2016 Dodici Pollici Italian Cup series in tenth place out of 22 riders overall.

After racing in Italy, Finn travelled to Valencia, Spain to meet with teams regarding competing in his debut season in the CEV RFME Challenge 85/Moto4 series. The RFME Campeonato de Espana de Velocidad series is a steppingstone to the CEV Moto3 Junior World Championship. Jonathan’s goal is to represent North America and be the first Canadian to compete at this level.

Jonathan Finn competes with support from Canadian Tire Moose Jaw, Arai Helmet Americas, Lucas Oil, Honda Canada, JT Sprockets, BigB Racing, Bickle Racing, DeCal Works, Gatorade Canada, Cruisers Collision & Custom, Impact Safe-T Armor, Motonation Canada, Sidi, LifeProof, Moose Jaw Ford, Meidl Honda, Troy Lee Designs Canada, Janman Leathers, SPY, RePlay XD, Team Redgoat and Inside Motorcycles Magazine.
