Vintage motorcycle racing is set take over centre stage at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park on August 11 to 13, with the annual VRRA Vintage Festival.

Three full days of racing will kick off on Friday with the two-hour endurance race. Saturday will see sprint races as well as the Mosport-only Warwick Cup for British motorcycles up to 500 cc manufactured in 1967 or earlier. Sunday finals will be followed by podium presentations for all classes, including the always exciting sidecar classes.

Among the many motorcycles garnering the attention of vintage enthusiasts throughout the weekend will be a Surtees AJS 350 Special as well as the MV Agusta 350 cc triple that Giacomo Agostini raced to multiple FIM World championships. Piloting these motorcycles will be none other than Dave Roper of Team Obsolete. At 74 years of age, Roper, a past winner of the Isle of Mann Classic, needs no introduction in the world of motorcycles and was recently featured in the documentary film Motorcycle Man.

As always, the paddock at VRRA races is open to everyone, allowing spectators the chance to see these amazing vintage machines up close as well as the opportunity to visit with individuals who maintain and race them.

In addition to all the on-track action the Canadian Vintage Motorcycle Group will host a swap meet throughout the weekend as well as a Concours d’Elegance on Saturday and the Canadian Vincent Owners Group will host their annual meeting. Paying spectators will have access to camping at no extra charge and live music with the Tyler Wilson Band will keep the crowd entertained on Saturday evening.

Tickets for the VRRA Vintage festival are $20 per day, $40 for Saturday and Sunday or $50 for the entire three day event and can be purchased online by visiting www.vrra.ca.
