SHANNONVILLE, ON  (May 3, 2017)  – The Trenton Military Family Resource Centre (MFRC) will serve as the title sponsor for the opening round of the Mopar Canadian Superbike Championship national motorcycle roadracing tour at Shannonville Motorsport Park (SMP) May 26, 27 and 28 2017.

The Superbike Challenge presented by the Trenton MFRC will take place at Shannonville Motorsport Park, located east of Belleville, Ontario, just south of Highway 401.  The CSBK National will utilize the perimeter, 2.45 kilometer, nine turn “Pro” track layout.  2017 not only marks Canada’s 150th Anniversary it’s also the 40th anniversary of motorcycle racing at SMP, originally known as Nelson International Raceway.

The Trenton MFRC is a non-profit organization that provides programs, services and resources that support the well-being of military families.  Programs offered serve members of 8 Wing/CFB Trenton, their families and the communities that they live in, ensuring all military families feel welcome and supported.

The Trenton MFRC was incorporated in 1992 to help military members at 8 Wing achieve operational readiness by enhancing quality of life and enriching the military experience for families. To accomplish this, they provide specialized programs and services that promote health, education and social well-being. Canadian Armed Forces members and the public are invited to learn more at www.trentonmfrc.ca.

“The opportunity for us to be the title sponsor of the Mopar Canadian Superbike Championship race weekend was presented to us last week by a donor who chooses to remain anonymous. We were more than delighted to accept this generous offer as it provides an opportunity for us to share the kinds of support we offer to military families as well as allowing us to offer half price tickets to CAF members and first responders.” said Devon Taylor, Trenton MFRC Communications & Development Coordinator.

In addition to military personnel and first responders with official I.D. being able to enjoy a family-friendly day at the Superbike Challenge with half price admission, children under 12 will be admitted free of charge and free camping is also available.

Ticket pricing for the opening round of Mopar CSBK at SMP is as follows; $10 on Friday, $15 on Saturday, $30 on Sunday, or $50 for the whole weekend.

Additional fan activities, special track-side events and ticket giveaways will be announced through Trenton MFRC’s and CSBK’s social media accounts leading up to the Superbike Challenge presented by the Trenton MFRC. Race fans are encouraged to follow @TrentonMFRC on Twitter and ‘Like’ www.facebook.com/pg/TrentonMilitaryFamilyResourceCentre on Facebook.

The pre-season favorite for both the overall 2017 Series Championship and a Shannonville victory will be reigning Mopar CSBK title holder Jordan Szoke of Lynden, ON.  Szoke, 38, rides for the Mopar Express Lane BMW Motorrad team, and has won the last three Shannonville openers, and has six career Feature race National wins at S.M.P.  Szoke last lost a Canadian National race in July, 2014, and is riding an unprecedented 14 race win streak.
