Flat track star Doug Lawrence will be sponsored this year by Toronto-based motorcycle accessory retail outlet Town Moto. The Queen West area store is owned by Andrew McCracken, Marika Thoms and Jamie Pentland, all motorcyclists who are keenly interested flat track fans and now sponsors of ‘The Mississauga Missile’.
“I’m really excited to be working with them; it’s cool to have a sponsor so close to home,” Lawrence enthused. “I’ll be wearing Town Moto leathers for the Flattrack Canada Championship Series, and they’re actually going to make a Doug Lawrence t-shirt and sell it in store and online. It’s so cool to have sponsors who are so into it.”
Town Moto co-owner McCracken confirmed the sponsorship agreement, stating “We got tipped off about Doug from one of our customers, Mike Mason, who also races. We invited Doug to come down to the store and after talking with him, we wanted to help. We see this as a great opportunity to get exposure for Town Moto and we feel Doug is an excellent represenative for us.
“As for the t-shirt, that was our idea. We felt that it will help promote Doug and also appeal to our customers who are always looking for something different.”
Town Moto will also be in attendance as a vendor at selected Flattrack Canada Championship events. Their retail store is at 132 Ossington (near Queen St.) in Toronto.
Town Moto joins Doug Lawrence’s other sponsors in support of his 2013 racing season including, Kurt Biegger Racing, Motovan, CVC Communications, Sturgess Cycle, Golden Tyre, Rev Amp and goflattrack.com.
