According to a report from the Motorcycle and Moped Industry Council and Canadian Off-Highway Vehicle Distributors Council, the month of January experienced another good increase in motorcycle sales to follow December’s, and a 12-month increase for 2012.
Overall, January exceeded January of 2012 by 15 percent. Only scooters were down for the month, but each of the remaining categories was up, some significantly.
The larger provinces all had gains for the month, with only Quebec at their same level. Manitoba and some of the small provinces showed decreases, but the unit numbers were small.
In ATV sales, January was near the same level at the same month, 2012, at just -1.8 percent. Ontario, Quebec, and Alberta were slightly above last year, while the remaining provinces were only slightly below for the same month.
The unit decreases were only -41 out of a month of 2,252 sold.
