Flat Track Canada has announced that former CMA champion, Inside Motorcycles columnist and flat track historian Frank Wood will be announcing three Flat Track Canada events in May at Paris Speedway and the new half-mile round at the Burford Fairgrounds in Burford, ON.
“Our relationship with Inside Motorcycles has been awesome over the past couple of years,” said Flat Track Canada President Aaron Hesmer. “The publication and its team have definitely helped Flat Track Canada become successful. Recently they’ve strengthened the relationship by becoming an official sponsor which will allow us to have Frank announce at select Flat Track Canada events. Frank has a ton of racing experience and still remains very close to the flat track community. I’m looking forward to hearing him over the PA.”
Wood, whose experience behind the microphone spans decades, is excited to be getting back to his roots.
“I haven’t had a chance to announce at a dirt track race for a number of years, so this is great. It’s where I started,” said Wood. “I really admire what Aaron is doing with his organization. I wish I had time to do the whole series, but I’m grateful he and David from Inside Motorcycles gave this opportunity to me.”
Wood will be announcing the season opening doubleheader at Paris on Victoria Day weekend (May 17-18) as well as the following weekend’s Burford race (May 24). For more information on the Flat Track Canada series, visit www.flattrackcanada.com.
