(Bushell Park, Saskatchewan, Canada) On June 7 & 8, 2014 Round 1 of the Canadian Motorcycle Association (CMA) Mini Roadracing series hosted by the Prairie Sport Riders Association (PSRA) took place at 3 Flags Motorsports Park Lumsden, SK. With riders representing mini road racing clubs from Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta, the Finn Motorsports team was eager to prove their skills against racers from all across Western Canada.
Finn Motorsports Youth Class rider, 2013 CMA National Champion Matthew Finn, was ready to start the 2014 season strong. The first of two races saw Matthew have trouble getting off the start line. Troubled with what was later discovered as carburetor issues, Matthew was able to stay with the leaders and salvage a third place. After trouble shooting and rectifying the carburetor problem, Matthew was able to get the hole shot at the start of the second race. After battling for first place throughout the entire race, Matthew lost out on the last corner and crossed the finish line within a bike length of the top spot. Matthew heads out west for CMA National west coast swing second in national points.
Finn Motorsports senior rider, Jonathan Finn, had a great way to start the CMA National season! Jonathan was up on the podium with 1st in Formula Thunder, 3rd in Motard and another 3rd in Formula Under 21 on his RM65. He also really impress a lot of his peers in running up front on his NSR50 but just finishing outside the top three. Other than a minor low side that produce nothing more than some cosmetic damage during the Spec Under 21 race, Jonathan rode well and contiues to impress with his dedication and maturity on and off the track!
The Finn Motorsports team continues to practice with track sessions at the 3 Flags Motorsports Park as well as Martensville Speedway in preparation for their west coast swing for CMA National Rounds 2&3 at Greg Moore Raceway – Chilliwack, BC (28-29 June 2014) and Rounds 4&5 at Cariboo Raceway Park – Quesnel, BC (5-6 July 2014).
The Finn Motorsports team would not be able to compete at the national level without the special efforts of Arai Helmet Americas, Canadian Tire Moose Jaw, Lucas Oil Products Inc., Minimob Racing, PMT Tyres, Cruisers Collision & Custom, NGK Spark Plugs Canada, Bickle Racing, JT Sprockets, SPY Optics, replayXD Cameras, Moose Jaw Ford, DECAL Works, Impact Safety Armor, and BigB Racing.
