Shannonville, ON (September 21, 2015)- Several new champions will be crowned next weekend at the RACE SuperSeries final round of motorcycle racing action for 2015. Shannonville Motorsport Park will be abuzz with excitement as racers promise to be in top form for the season-ending races.

Elie Daccache looks to bounce back and recover from a disastrous round 4. Leading in the Pro Superbike class by a narrow margin, the Newcastle, ON rider looked set to earn a second place finish, and retain a lead in the series, only to have it all come undone with a last lap crash, handing the race win and Superbike series points lead to Jim Proulx. The former champion, Proulx now sits atop the leader board with an 18-point advantage and Daccache will need to be at the top of his game if he hopes to win the championship he once held a firm grip of. Steve “Doc” Walker sits in a very close third place, only 13 points adrift of Daccache, and can jump to the top if either of the series contenders slip up.

In Pro 6 Cycle/ Dunlop Tire Pro 600 action, Daccache has a healthy 39 point lead, well ahead of Brent Strong. But Strong has been riding well as of late and will be looking for his first SuperSeries Championship. Anthony Scavone sits alone in third place, behind by 13 points but can never be counted out for a strong finish. Kingston’s Jeff Williams, although well out of points contention could play the part of spoiler here. One of the most exciting road racers to watch, Williams is sure to be in the thick of things when the checkered flag airs out in the final.

In the Muskoka Brewery-sponsored Amateur Superbike class, Belleville’s Mike Raniowski holds a 26 point advantage over rival Chris Brent, with Kingston racer Steve Cole close behind. Raniowski and Brent have battled hard for the title all season and either one could earn their first championship with a win next weekend. Cole and Chris Fehr are close behind and looking to jump on any miscues by the leaders.

The Gravenhurst Plastics Am 600 Championship looks to be settled, with Raniowski holding a 70-point margin over second place finisher Chris Fehr. Chris Brent and Todd Ferguson follow close behind and the racing now will be for bragging rights going into next season.

The closest category of the weekend will be “Old Boys Club” racing action. David Walker holds a slim lead over Alan Burns and Dave Buckland with only six points separating the top three riders. With a tremendous win in the last round, Moe Gebara has moved himself to within a single point of the leaders.

Practice starts on Friday with qualifying slated for Saturday. Sunday will conclude the season with an awards presentation to follow shortly after the days action concludes.
