Reigning MotoGP World Champion will have a more difficult time defending his title in 2012 if Yamaha has anything to say about it. The Australian rider maintained the fastest pace during the second free practice session in Qatar earlier today, however the tables were turned in the final practice session of the day with Factory Yamaha’s Jorge Lorenzo posting the quickest time with a 1:55.302 in free practice three.

Lorenzo was followed closely by Yamaha Tech 3 rider Cal Crutchlow, who put in an impressive late performance to pull off a time of 1:55.456.  Casey Stoner completed the session in third place, with a time of 1:55.674.  Yamaha Tech 3 rider Andrea Dovizioso was fourth (1:55.905) while Stoner’s teammate Dani Pedrosa was fifth quickest (1:56.114) following a crash in the previous session. Factory Yamaha rider Ben Spies crashed early and returned later in the session to register a time of 1:57.030, 11th quickest.
