West City Powersports Honda will be the Official Dealer and promotional partner for the opening round of the 2013 Mopar Canadian Superbike National motorcycle road racing championship at Shannonville Motorsport Park, east of Belleville, Ont., this weekend. A new dealer based in Belleville, West City Powersports Honda joins the National tour as a sponsor for the first time.
West City Powersports Honda is tailoring its ad spots on five separate radio stations, as well as a print advertising campaign, to help promote the CSBK season opener on the Pro track layout of Shannonville Motorsport Park.
“This was a great opportunity for us, and we didn’t hesitate to get involved,” explained Chad Musclow, Manager of West City Powersports. “Most of our staff, including myself, are CSBK fans and the races coincides with our official grand opening.
“We’re having the folks from Honda Canada here on Thursday night. “Then Jodi Christie and Stacey Nesbitt will be here for autographs and our race promotion on Friday night. We also aim to have Jodi and Stacey on hand for Friday morning radio show interviews. “
Christie won the Hindle Pro Sport Bike National crown the past two seasons, while top female racer Nesbitt has also triumphed in Honda spec class National series in 2011 and 2012.
“We’ll be on site at Shannonville on Sunday, showcasing all the new Hondas,” confirmed Musclow. “We’re having a lot of fun with this opportunity and we’re really excited to partner with the Mopar CSBK crew, and I look forward to seeing everyone at the first National.”
West City Powersports Honda opened its doors to the public in September, 2012, and is celebrating its official Grand Opening on Friday, June 7. A full line dealer, West City Powersports is located at 676 Dundas Street West in Belleville, just east of Wallbridge Loyalist Road. The track is located approximately 15 minutes east of Belleville, just south of Highway 401.
The nine-turn, 2.47km long Pro layout at Shannonville Motorsport Park is the most recently created version of a venue that has been a motorsport fixture since legendary builder John Nelson opened the facility with a motorcycle event on Thanksgiving, 1976.
Reigning Mopar CSBK National Champion Jordan Szoke of Brantford, ON is the rider to beat heading into the National opening round. At a RACE-organized event May 19 at Shannonville, Szoke used the Regional opener to prepare for the Nationals, taking the win aboard his Parts Canada-backed Waznie Racing BMW Motorrad S100RR Superbike.
