The Board of Directors of the Motorcycle and Moped Industry Council (MMIC), the Canadian Off-Highway Vehicle Distributors Council (COHV) and Power Sport Services (PSS) announced today the appointment of long-time employee Bianca Kennedy to President of the organizations, effective immediately. Kennedy is succeeding Michelle O’Hara who announced her resignation in May of 2022.

Bianca has been with the organization since 2013, recently as the Director of Market Expansion and Events. She has been instrumental in the development of strategic initiatives and campaigns to grow the on-road motorcycle, and off-highway vehicle sectors. As a strategic thinker and tactical executor, Bianca brings a wide range of skills to the organizations, specifically in marketing and communications, business development, public and government relations, financial management, and cross-functional team management. In addition to her varied skill set, Bianca is completely bilingual, which ensures the highest level of service and efficacy across all stakeholders.

Named by BizBash in 2021 as one of Canada’s most influential leaders in the events’ sector, Bianca is known as an industry trailblazer that accelerates relationships and commerce, while building community, through engaging brand experiences.

Andrew Fletcher, Chair of MMIC stated “Over the last two years we have seen a surge in motorcycling and off-highway riding among existing, returning and new riders. As the MMIC, COHV and PSS continue to take action to build on this momentum, I am pleased that Bianca has accepted the role of President of the organizations. Bianca’s proven leadership success, combined with her extensive experience in both the not-for-profit and for-profit sectors, uniquely positions her to deliver on the industry’s mission to protect, promote and grow motorcycling and off-highway riding in Canada. On behalf of the Boards of Directors, I am very pleased to welcome her in her new role.”

Since joining the team at PSS and The Motorcycle Shows in 2013, Bianca has consistently delivered year-over-year growth by building valuable partnerships and implementing forward-thinking initiatives, with a focus on innovation, expansion, and inclusion. Additionally, Bianca served as President of The Canadian Association of Exposition Management, from June 2020 to June 2022. Under her leadership, the exhibition industry rallied together like never before to collaborate with government on strategies and solutions to ensure the sector’s survival and recovery. During her tenure, she successfully refocused the Association’s strategic priorities to better serve its members and the industry-at-large. This included advocating for the safe and responsible reopening of exhibitions, securing sector-specific funding for businesses in the hard-hit trade show industry and positioning the Association as the central information hub for industry members.

“I am thrilled to be taking on this new level of leadership responsibility with the MMIC, COHV and PSS.” stated Bianca. “As an avid rider myself, I am extremely passionate about preserving and promoting motorcycling and off-highway riding, as well as growing ridership. It’s an incredible time for our industry. The future of powersports is even more inclusive, innovative and expansive than ever before. Together with our visionary Boards of Directors and our talented team of staff, I look forward to further building the organization’s successes in advocacy, events, market expansion and member services.”
