Seven-time Canadian Superbike champion Jordan Szoke will officially be riding a BMW in the Mopar Superbike Championship for the 2012 season. Szoke will manage and race for his own team this season aboard the Waznie Racing/Parts Canada BMW Motorrad S1000RR.
“I am really excited to represent BMW,” says Szoke. “Its feels good to represent a manufacturer that steps up to the plate and supports road racing like BMW has this year.
Their efforts remind me of the Kawasaki of the 90s. Its awesome to see and great to be a part of.”
Szoke admitted that his sights are set squarely on a championship, following in the shoes of Brett McCormick, who won the Superbike crown last year on the radX/BMW Motorrad S1000RR. “I look forward to coming back for my #1 plate this year,” he smiles. “I hope I am able to keep it for BMW and represent them well.”
The last time Szoke controlled his own team, in 2010, he won the championship and was awarded the Inside Motorcycles “Team of the Year” award for his accomplishments. But like any good racer, he knows that success does not come without the right supporting cast. ““I would really like to send out a personal thank you to our existing sponsors that stuck with us again this season,” Szoke humbly states. “Without them this wouldn’t be possible.”
You can catch Szoke as he vies for an 8th Canadian Superbike title when the Mopar Canadian Superbike Championship kicks off June 22nd-24th at Shannonville Motorsports Park.
