With some electrical and fuel system changes, the Go Faster Pro Bike entry of Danny Staples and Kevin McKay will be ready for the upcoming Pro Bike & Sled Series presented by Wiseco Performance Products season.

The team has been working with the nitrous system on their 1986 Suzuki GS, and thinks they have the combination set up correctly for winning some races.

“We think we have the bugs out of the nitrous system,” said Staples, who shares riding duties with McKay. “This is a pretty stout system and the power comes on much smoother. We’ve also done some upgrading and the whole bike has been rewired.

Staples added that with the upgrades to the nitrous system, the power from the 1500 cc engine can be boosted an additional 50 horsepower from before, providing 150 horsepower, which should improve last year’s 7.62-second, 165 mph trips down the quarter-mile. The Suzuki, which features a three-speed automatic transmission, will be running potent 123-octane fuel as well.

“Our goal is tuning for more consistency and working with a safe nitrous tune,” he said.

Staples and McKay share the riding and crew chief duties, while Vern and Tony help out in the pits and at the line. Sponsorship is provided by Advantage Powder Coating of Ingersoll.

The team plans to run the majority of the PBSS season, which starts May 10-11 at US 131 Motorsports Park in Martin, Michigan, one of six events for 2013. Staples said the team will be ready and enjoys competing in the series.

“This is a great series with great people, and very professionally operated,” he said. “I’m looking forward to it.”
