Austin Shaw-O’Leary was released from IWK Hospital in Nova Scotia yesterday evening and sent home with exercises and specific instructions not to put weight on his right knee for the timing being. The Falmouth, Nova Scotia rider, who went to the hopital on Monday following a crash in Sunday’s Mopar Canadian Superbike series warm-up session, will be expected to see doctors next Monday for re-evaluation and physio therapy.
Shaw-O’Leary had experienced pain and swelling in his right knee following Sunday’s incident, and doctors were initially looking to drain the swelling. They have since chosen not to drain Shaw-O’Leary’s knee for the time-being, and while still quite swollen, the young rider indicated that the pain has subsided and the swelling is on the decline.
