Following an extremely successful global launch in Bangkok, Thailand in the summer of 2022, Royal Enfield, the global leader in the midsize (250cc-750cc) motorcycle segment, is now preparing to introduce the all-new Hunter 350 to North America. Engineered and designed for the urban hustle, the new Hunter 350 is a remixed roadster with the character of a Royal Enfield reimagined in a stylish, compact-yet-muscular geometry, that can tackle crowded city streets, suburban backroads and beyond, with confidence.
In the conception of the all-new Hunter 350, the latest model built around Royal Enfield’s popular 350cc J-series engine, Royal Enfield tasked itself with building a big-city motorcycle that fits perfectly into the world’s most dynamic urban epicenters—from Mumbai to Bangkok, New York to London. A motorcycle that’s refreshingly new but exudes old-school cool and retains that essential Royal Enfield DNA. While it took time to distil, the Hunter 350 is that perfect blend—an incredibly playful, muscular motorcycle that exudes modern-retro style, packing in all the intense flavors of pure motorcycling and serving them up in a stylish, urbanite shot of exhilaration.
A proven powerplant wrapped in all-new Harris Performance-built frame, the Hunter 350 is geared to deliver excellent maneuverability and sharp handling. A shorter wheelbase and tighter geometry than its 350cc Royal Enfield predecessors (Meteor 350 and Classic 350) allow the Hunter 350 to flex its muscle in city streets. Lighter overall weight and confident braking lend to its sporty demeanor, while 17-inch alloy wheels and tubeless tires open the Hunter 350 up to a wider variety of tire choices. Whether you’re seeking a sporting ride, or looking to slice through the cross-town commute, the all-new Hunter 350 is a “two wheeled double espresso” of motorcycling that will put a smile on your face.
Take it beyond the city limits and this remixed roadster will glide along the straights with confidence and head-turning style. Angle it into canyon curves and feel the ultra-responsive character of the all-new frame shine through. The balanced chassis and torquey 350cc engine will ignite your senses as you carve through corners, inviting you to savor the pure, distilled experience of twisting a throttle in a simple, compact package. In a landscape of the elaborate and complex, enjoy a pure shot of motorcycling with the Hunter 350.
Speaking about the inspiration behind the Hunter 350, Siddhartha Lal, Managing Director of Eicher Motors Ltd. said, “At Royal Enfield we are closely engaged with our consumers and community. Their desires and aspirations shape the motorcycles we make and we are always looking to create newer experiences and newer formats of pure motorcycling for them. There were always a set of passionate motorcyclists that loved our brand, but did not find the right kind of attitude within our portfolio. The Hunter 350 is for them. It is a motorcycle that combines the strengths of seemingly different species, and brings it together in a super stylish and fun package that is an all-new flavor of pure motorcycling with the unmistakable Royal Enfield character.”
The Hunter 350 is distinctly unique within the Royal Enfield lineup. Sound, color, styling, handling, performance—everything about the Hunter 350 is designed to wake you up with an experience like no other.
Commenting on the launch of the Hunter 350, Royal Enfield CEO, B Govindarajan, said, “The Hunter 350 is an outcome of several years of insight gathering and consumer studies from across the world. It is a motorcycle that feels right at home in big metropolises and is exciting for the experienced rider, and easy and accessible for a new rider. Its shorter wheelbase, more compact geometry and lighter weight makes it very nimble and maneuverable within the urban context. We are very confident that this new reimagined roadster will usher in a whole new set of global consumers into our world of pure motorcycling.”
The Hunter 350 is equipped with alloy wheels and wide 110/70 x 17” front and 140/70 x 17” rear tubeless tires for superior handling and muscular good looks. It also features 300mm front and 270mm rear disc brakes, dual channel ABS and a center stand. An LED tail lamp and premium digital-analog instrument cluster display complete this stylish package.
The Hunter is powered by a refined 349cc fuel-injected, air/oil-cooled, single-cylinder J-series engine. It produces strong low-end grunt, smooth power delivery and gearing primed for a lively throttle response. With a primary balancer shaft to cut down on vibrations, it feels both responsive and refined. The chassis is designed to give the optimal height-to-weight ratio while offering superior comfort with its wide, long, one-piece seat. With revised rake and trail angles (compared to its J-series counterparts), a lower 790mm seat height and shorter wheelbase, the Hunter’s exceptional maneuverability makes it ideal for beginner riders, as well as a fun and confidence-inspiring ride for seasoned veterans.
Mark Wells, Royal Enfield Chief of Design, said, “It just seemed the most natural thing in the world for Royal Enfield to develop a fun, lighter and more agile 350 roadster. It’s fresh but is still fully Royal Enfield. Every time I look at it, the Hunter gives me a carefree feeling of being young, jumping on my bike and whizzing off to meet up with mates.”
The 2023 Royal Enfield Hunter 350 includes 2 color variants, Dapper and Rebel. The Dapper will retail for $5,299 CAD. The Rebel dual-tone color applications will retail for $5,555 CAD.
