This year, Ride for Sight’s Kick-Off Motorcycle Parade will depart from Orillia’s Lakehead University – just a short distance from the main event venue at Tudhope Park. Over the past few years, it has become more and more challenging to maneuver the massive Ride for Sight parade out of Toronto’s city limits. As participation continues to grow, it is the perfect time to move the parade route out of the downtown traffic and on to the beautiful, open roads surrounding Orillia.

Leaving from Lakehead University on Saturday, June 16th at 10 a.m. sharp, the police-escorted parade will take riders along some of the prettiest roads in Orillia cottage country, before arriving at the main event in Tudhope Park.

With the route located in and around the event site, parade riders who usually come for Saturday’s celebrations can now join in for all of the fun and entertainment on Friday, without having to make the long highway ride to the Kick-Off point on Saturday morning, like in prior event years.

Ride for Site organizers encourage all riders to join them on Friday and make Ride for Sight 2012 a full-weekend experience! For those still joining us on Saturday, parade registration and a light breakfast (for all parade riders) will be available at 8:30am.

A reminder that the first early bird deadline is approaching. All you have to do is fundraise at least $150 online by April 1st and your name will be entered into a draw for a chance to win a motorcycle communication headset for two (valued at over $150)!

This early bird draw is only available for those who are raising donations online at www.rideforsight.com. So far, they have raised just over $20,000 with an online fundraising goal of $300,000. For further information on how to participate, please visit www.rideforsight.com
