Rev Amp of Mississauga, Ont. has announced its support of AMA Pro and Canadian Expert dirt track racer Doug Lawrence (pictured).
The electrical supply firm is owned and operated by former dirt track and road racer Patrick Chartrand. Chartrand has competed in the Mopar Canadian Superbike series in the Harley-Davidson XR1200 class and will ride selected events in that series this year.
“I’ve known Patrick for a long time,” Lawrence commented. “I knew him when he was racing dirt track, and I knew he was a road racer as well. He’s always been a keen dirt track fan, and it’s great to be partnered with him, his company is right here in Mississauga.
“Patrick knows obviously what it takes to go racing and his support is very important to us. When you get support like this it makes you want to do well for them. He said he’s coming out to the races this year so maybe I better win a few for him.”
“I still love to race,” Chartrand said. “I’m going to ride my Rotax in a couple of races this year but mostly now I’m interested in helping Doug. Dirt track racing is a great sport. It really is the base of everything, a great starting point for racers. We at Rev Amp are really looking forward to the coming season and being a part of the sport. Doug has actually asked us for support before but this year we decided to get involved and help him. He’s a good kid, a good racer and I think he is good for the sport.”
