Despite the earlier optimistic predictions of the meteorological centre, TT Races Clerk of the Course Gary Thompson was forced to cancel Saturday night’s first scheduled practice for the 2014 Isle of Man TT Races fuelled by Monster Energy at 6:25pm, shortly after it was due to start due to heavy rain on the Isle of Man.
This means that Monday’s schedule has been amended to accommodate the solo and sidecar newcomers’ laps.
The revised schedule will see the solo newcomers’ speed controlled untimed laps away at 6:15pm with the sidecar newcomers starting their first lap at 6:30pm.
Monday’s session will then run as planned from 6:45pm with a full solo session for Superbike, Superstock and Supersport machines and a sidecar qualifying session from 7:55pm.
“It’s unfortunate but the conditions were not conducive to any laps on the course this evening so the only sensible course of action was to cancel the session,” Thompson said. “I’m conscious that the Lightweight machines have lost time at this stage and I’ll be looking to make it up ahead of their race on Friday week.”
