(July 14, 2014) CMDRA Badlands Nationals – Scorching temperatures, unbeaten streaks, new winners and returns to the podium, were all on tap when the Canadian Motorcycle Drag Racing held the 2014 edition of the Badlands Nationals on July 12 and 13 at the Medicine Hat Drag Strip in Southern Alberta.
In the Screamin’ Eagle Pro Dragster class, Edmonton’s Hi-Per Al Miles and his FFR racing team took home yet another first place trophy and extended their winning streak to seven straight CMDRA events. At the same time, Jeff Pitre of Yellowknife claimed his first victory in the Screamin’ Eagle V-Rod Destroyer series by defeating Red Deer Alberta’s Debbie Ramage in the final elimination round.
The Blackjack’s Roadhouse Pro Mod division continues to thrill race fans, with each of Tony Clizbe, Gary Christopher and Burke Forster hitting speeds in excess of 200 mph during the weekend. At the conclusion of the weekend it was Forster who will return home to Fort St. John BC with the CMDRA trophy after he defeated Christopher from Hope BC in the finals. Also of note was Kevin Pettitt’s second multiple class win in 2014, with victories in the Hot Harley and Screamin’ Eagle Stock XL, and the return of Chris Klassen, 2011 FullBore Marketing Super Street champion, to the winner circle.
