CAYUGA, ONTARIO (November 11, 2013) – Dan Cryderman had an exception year in 2013, as the Pro Bike rider won his first Pro Bike & Sled Series Championship Point Award Series presented by Wiseco Performance Products. Cryderman, of Thamesville, Ontario, took the title in the third season of PBSS competition.

“We started coming around late last year,” noted the Suzuki rider, who placed third in the 2012 points race. “Since that time we got into six straight finals. The bike has been working like a top, the engine running well, and we’ve achieved great consistency.”

Ironically Cryderman’s string of finals was broken in the final event of 2013.

Cryderman did not race in the season opener at Martin, Michigan, leaving that to crew member Jeremey Van Bastelaar who qualified third for the team and went to the semi-final. Cryderman was back on his Suzuki for the next event, qualifying number three at the first race of the year on the Cayuga Dragway of Toronto Motorsports Park and winning the event, beating John Schwartz of Lancaster, New York.

Cryderman had the Cayuga track all to himself for the next event, qualifying number one and winning his second of the year. For the next event, also at Cayuga, he qualified number one once again, and went laps but lost in the final to Ted Glinny of Milton, Ontario, who finished runner-up in the 2013 PBSS season.

Cryderman got back to his winning ways for the next race, held at the Grand Bend Motorplex, qualifying second and winning over Toronto’s John Orfanidis in the final. And although he continued with his stellar qualifying runs for the season-ender at Grand Bend, starting second on the ladder, he was taken out in the first round.

The 2004 Raceworks Suzuki is powered by a 1570-cc Vortex II engine fueled by 48-mm Lectrons and backed up with a five-speed transmission. Cryderman, who has dragged raced motorcycles since 1997 when he got out of university, can run the Suzuki down the quarter-mile in under eight seconds at 160-plus mph.

“I want to thank Fast by Gast and Ward Performance for all their help,” he said. “I also want to thank Raceworks Canada and Pingel Enterprises. And a big thanks to my crew, Jeremey (Van Bastelaar) and Bob (MacKinnon).”

The Annual “Night of Champions” Championship Point Award Series Banquet for the Pro Modified Racing Association (PMRA), the Quick 32 Sportsman Series and the Pro Bike & Sled Series (PBSS) will be held at the Burlington Hotel & Conference Centre in Burlington, Ontario on Saturday, November 16, 2013.

The Pro Bike & Sled Series, www.PBSS.ca, also competes with its two companion series, the Pro Modified Racing Association, www.PMRA.ca and the Quick 32 Sportsman Series, www.Quick32.ca providing fans and exciting and complete experience of drag racing action.
