The Victorian Circuit, a riders' favourite, is also the most visited in the history of WSBK, as the 2014 edition will be the 24th held on the Island.

Munich, 24th July 2013. BMW Motorrad is continuing its long-term strategic realignment of the brand. This strategy also affects BMW Motorrad Motorsport’s activities, which as a next step will also be restructured. Eugene Laverty (Aprilia Racing Team) was the winner of Race 2 at Portimao. The Irishman, back on the podium after one round of absence, managed to score his 4th victory of the season. Of the seven wins achieved so far in his WSBK career, six of them came in the second race.
