Cownden, Thompson Earn Wins At Eastern Nationals

After torrential rains washed out the first day of racing and threatened to cancel the second and final day of the CMDRA Eastern Nationals presented by Parts Canada and Drag Specialties at Toronto Motorsports Park, the diehard racers and fans that stuck it out were rewarded with close competition and one of the few Nitro Harley appearances in Ontario this year.

Cownden Takes Top Fuel in Quebec

Defending two-time Canadian Top Fuel champion Damian Cownden will be remembered in the history books as the first CMDRA Top Fuel winner at a race held in Quebec. The DCR Top Fuel Nitro Harley-Davidson team took on a five-strong field and less-than-ideal track conditions to come out on top of the inaugural CMDRA Rendez-Vous Nationals at Napierville Dragway.

CMDRA Brings Nitro and More to Toronto Motorsports Park This Weekend

Eastern drag racing fans are in for a real treat this coming June 1-2^nd when Cayuga Dragway at Toronto Motorsports presents yet another first – the CMDRA Eastern Nationals.

The major event, which is the 2^nd of seven races within the 2012 CMDRA’s season calendar will present motorcycle drag racing at its finest and will feature no less then 13 different categories of motorcycle competition.

The event will include the marquee Screamin’ Eagle Performance Parts Harley Davidson Nitro Harley division which will offer 16 qualifying slots. Those death defying machines frequently propel their riders to elapsed times in the 6-secs zone at over 230 mph.
