SuperSeries Finally In The Books

With restrictions finally relaxed, a large contingent of motorcycle racers braved the new conditions and battled in Shannonville Motorsport Park’s Super Series this weekend. With clear skies and stifling hot temperatures on the forecast, racers did their best social distancing out on the racetrack.

In Pro Superbike, Elie Daccache maintained a firm grasp on his championship, racing his Yamaha R1 to commanding wins in both ends of the double-header weekend. Daccache took the early lead in both contests and never looked back, despite the best efforts of Saturday’s second place finisher Elliot Viera and Sunday’s runner-up Guillaume Lavallee. Local racer Eros Mukja finisjed on the final step of the podium on both days.

In Pro 600 Sportbike, Elliot Vierra took a hard earned win over Louie Raffa despite crashing out of the contest in the later stages of the race. Hindered by continuing arm pump issues, Vierra lost the front coming out of Allen’s corner, crashing hard and ending his weekend. Raffa held on to finish second with Connor Campbell in third. In Sunday’s final, it was young sensation Jake Leclair with the Sportbike win over Connor Campbell. In third was Kingston’s Chris Fehr, who enjoyed one of his best outings of his career.

Top ranked Amateur Jordan Royd’s capped another good weekend with wins in both ends of the double header, taking the top step of the podium of the Am Superbike contest. Second place finishes went to Richard Diaz on Saturday and newcomer Brad Macrae on Sunday. In third on day one was Guillaume Lavallee with Dan “The Man” Lewczuk making his trip to the third step of the podium.

In the hotly contested Am 600 Sportbike race, Ben Leclair tore up the track on his way to double wins with an impressive display of riding. Best seat in the house for the contest went to Richard Diaz who finished second on both occasions. Nathan Playford and Brad Macrae shared third place on the weekend.
