The Canadian Motorcycle Drag Racing Association held the final race of its 2019 season at Mission Raceway Park in British Columbia on September 21st and 22nd. As has been the case for much of the 2019 season, weather once again played a factor with rain forcing the planned two-day event to be consolidated into a single day completed on the Saturday in advance of forecasted rain on Sunday.
Among the notable performances in Mission was CMDRA veteran Al Miles who set new records for both the quarter-mile and eighth-mile ET in the Welch Motorcycles Pro Dragster class. Engine failure during his semi-final bye run brought Miles’ weekend to a conclusion and gave defending champion Quinn Olson a bye run in the finals for the win and the points required to successfully repeat as the CMDRA Pro Dragster champion.
Matt Mackay-Smith took the win in MTMM Performance Pro Mod capping off a perfect undefeated CMDRA season. Riley Toth, also wrapped up his undefeated season, taking the win in the JPM Mechanical Super Bike class.
Ethan Barkley was once again the fastest man on track, making history with a 7.192 second quarter mile ET, the quickest ever by a Pro Street bike on Canadian soil. Unfortunately, engine failure prevented Barkley from making the backup pass required to set an official CMDRA record.
