Candidates for the 2013 Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup tryouts have been announced and at least three young Canadian riders will join the mix. 2012 CBR 250R Cup Champion Stacey Nesbitt and Shannonville RACE Superseries 125GP and 250GP champ Eden O’Shell have been invited to travel to the Monteblanco Circuit in Spain from October 9-11, 2012 to attend the tryouts. CBR250R Cup series contender Tomas Casas has also reportedly been invited to the tryouts. Casas finished third overall in the CBR250R Cup series championship this year and had several race wins and podiums throughout the season.
For the past five years, the Red Bull Rookies Cup has selected the 24 most talented young rookie racers from around the world to compete on KTM 125 machines, contesting 8 Grand Prix races around Europe, competing during the same weekends as the MotoGP world championship.
Nesbitt, O’Shell and Casas are looking forward to the opportunity to tryouts. While O’Shell is a seasoned veteran on the 125cc machines, Nesbitt managed to get in some quality seat time on a 125cc bike at the last RACE regional held at Shannoville Motorsports Park on September 3.
