As participation continues to grow, it is the perfect time to move the parade route out of the downtown traffic and on to the beautiful, open roads surrounding Orillia. A long time supporter of youth in motorcycle racing, and recognizing the financial challenges that prevent some kids from sharing the motorcycle experience, the Alberta Mini RoadRacing Association (AMRA) has designed a program to introduce young kids between the ages of 6-9 to the sport of motorcycle roadracing. The "Checkered Flag" sponsorship program provides equipment for up to 3 young riders to kickstart their dream of getting on the track and into the sport of road racing. The successful applicants will be loaned protective gear, from head to toe. As well, a suitably sized motorcycle will be provided to train on and eventually race. Training and instruction will be provided by an AMRA representative. The gear and equipment will remain the property of the AMRA for future families to benefit from.
