Markham ON - July 17, 2012: The Motorcyclists Confederation of Canada (MCC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mark Gray as Chairperson of the MCC Off-Road Council. Comprised of provincial member federations, the MCC Off-Road Council is a national forum designed to promote off-road riding and foster an integrated, national approach to deal with public policy issues affecting off-road motorcyclists.

"The MCC Board is very pleased that Mark Gray has accepted to be part of this energetic, results-oriented group of off-road enthusiasts," noted MCC Chair Kellee Irwin. "Working closely with our member federations, the MCC Off-Road Council has a number of important initiatives underway, and I have no doubt that Mark and his Council colleagues will make a meaningful contribution to enhance the off-road riding experience in Canada."

"As a priority, the MCC Off-Road Council will coordinate the development and release of a comprehensive economic impact study, which will showcase the economic benefits off-road riding brings to communities across the country. We will now have the solid numbers federal and provincial decision-makers need as they consider public policy issues affecting our community," noted Mark Gray. "The MCC Off-Road Council is also moving aggressively on other fronts, including the coordination of a national and regional government relations and advocacy campaign, public affairs training and support for MCC member federations and the exchange of best practices as they relate to safety and training programs."

Mark began riding a trail bike and moped at an early age, which evolved into a passion for primarily sport and dualsport bikes. He is a Director and a co-founder of DualSportBC and a Treasurer of the Greater Vancouver Motorcycle Club. Mark puts much emphasis on safety, trail access and stewardship, new riders and supporting Canadian retailers. He has been lead organizer of several major motorcycle events in recent years.

MCC Off-Road Council members are the Alberta Off-Highway Vehicle Association (AOHVA); the British Columbia Off-Road Motorcycle Association (BCORMA); La Fédération Québecoise des motos hors-route (FQMHR); the New Brunswick Off-Road Motorcycle Federation (NBORMF); the Nova Scotia Off-Road Riders Association (NSORRA); and the Ontario Federation of Trail Riders (OFTR).

Comprised of national, provincial and territorial organizations, regional clubs, individual patrons and industry representatives, the Motorcyclists Confederation of Canada is the premier national, grassroots advocacy organization championing motorcycling interests throughout Canada.
