The 2019 YZF-R3 is powered by Yamaha’s renowned 321 cc inline twin-cylinder engine with excellent power delivery and throttle characteristics. Whether you’re tackling crosstown traffic or a twisty road, the R3 is perfect for new motorcyclists who want a sport machine that’s also rider-friendly. Smooth power delivery, standard ABS and a relaxed riding position all serve to build confidence in the developing rider.
New for 2019, the YZF-R3 comes with an upside-down 37 mm KYB fork to achieve the right balance of comfort and sporty performance. Coupled with an all-new triple clamp that incorporates an aluminum handlebar crown with R-series styling, the assembly works to provide the rider with outstanding handling during cornering and braking.
Additional upgrades for 2019 include a reshaped fuel tank aimed at improving the feeling between rider and machine, while the fairing and windscreen were redesigned with a nod to Yamaha’s flagship MotoGP race bike, the YZF-M1. The aggressive look achieves outstanding aerodynamic performance — a seven percent reduction in aerodynamic drag and an eight km/h (five mph) increase in top speed — while the handlebar position is now 22 mm lower for a more sport-focused rider position.
Rounding out the list of updates are new LED headlights and position lights to complement the new fairing, and a redesigned, easy-to-read LCD instrument panel.
In addition to the R series, Yamaha Motor Canada has also announced the return of the sport heritage lineup including the XSR900, XSR700, Bolt, Bolt R-Spec, V-Star 250 and VMAX.
The 2019 YZF-R3 retails for $6,299 and comes in dark blue, matte black, and white. Delivery to Canada is expected to start in early 2019. For more information, visit http://yamaha-motor.ca
