Ryan Villopoto Bike Charity Auction

Ryan Villopoto Bike Charity Auction

Written by  on Friday, 23 January 2015 14:57

After winning his 3rd consecutive FIM Supercross Championship, Monster Energy Kawasaki and Kawasaki USA wanted to reward Ryan Villopoto with a customized 2013 Kawasaki Vaquero®.  Several premier motorcycle vendors were invited to help participate in this project such as Cobra Exhaust, Dunlop Tires, Hogtunes / Metrix Audio, Klock Werks, LA Choppers,  Legend Suspensions, RC Components, and Saddlemen. The bike has custom paint and pinstriping by Kelly & Son.

Once completed, the bike was featured in Parts Unlimited Magazine, and just before the first race of the 2014 season (A1) Ryan rode the bike as the host of a charity ride. Hogtunes / Metrix Audio owner Mike “PEZ” Pesdirz and Ryan had discussed the idea of using the bike as an auction item for a cancer charity, and literally less than 4 hours before winning his 4th Supercross Championship in New York, the deal was done.

The bike was recently shown at Parts Unlimited/Drag Specialties NVP Showcase, and from there the bike was brought to Pez’s facility in Barrie, Ontario, Canada.

To assist bringing awareness to the auction, the bike will be going across Canada with Parts Canada as part of their corporate booth at the MMIC shows in Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Toronto, Montreal, Quebec City, and Moncton. When the Canadian tour is over, the bike will be auctioned off to the highest bidder in March 2015 where 100% of the proceeds are set to go to the Radio for Radiation (R4R) campaign. The R4R campaign pledged $500,000 to Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie to help fund a CT Simulator Suite. In the event the $500,000 target is met before the bike auction is completed, 100% of the funds from the bike auction will go the next initiative to support Royal Victoria Hospital. In any event, whoever wins the auction will make the payment directly to the charity which also gives corporations some attractive tax advantages! You can learn more about R4R by clicking here
