An eventful summer for Pirelli Tire North America has culminated in four new track records, all by riders on bikes shod with V2 Pirelli Slicks, the Italian tire manufacturer’s latest roadracing tires.
“The new World Superbike spec slicks have been optimized across the board and are helping these racers do some amazing things this year,” commented Jeff Johnston, Moto Roadracing Manager for Pirelli North America. “Everything from the carcass to the compounds has been changed and improved for 2013 and these 4 records are proof of that.”
On April 24 at the WERA West Races, Jeremy Toye set a track record at the Las Vegas Classic Course with a time of 1:15.2. Danny Kelsey followed with a 1:14.7 on May 18 at a CMRA race event at Hallett Motor Racing Circuit. Less than a week later, on May 26, Bruno Silva set a new track record of 1:16.2 at the Palm Beach International Raceway during the CCS Florida race event. And most recently on July 14, Ryan Sutton set the new motorcycle record of 1:39.4 during the July 14 WMRRArace event at Ridge M/S Park.
