According to a recent report from the Motorcycle and Moped Industry Council (MMIC), motorcycle sales for July experienced a significant increase from the same month in 2011; sales were up by 18.4% from the previous year.
Street bikes showed the largest unit increase of 687 units, or 21.8%, while some of the smaller categories had smaller unit increases, but high percentage increases. Scooter and dual-purpose experienced decreases.
All provinces, were up significantly, with Quebec showing the largest increase at 465 units, or 31%.
Year-to-date, as a result of this month’s increase, motorcycles are still holding to an increase from the same period, 2011, at 3.98%.
