Despite a disappointing weekend at the NHRA Harley-Davidson Drag Racing Series at Virginia Motorsports Park this past weekend, the Kevin Boyer Nitro Harley drag racing team is pleased to announce a three year partnership with ACE Manufacturing Metals Ltd. The custom manufacturing company is based in Alberta, has been the primary sponsor of KBR for over 10 years and will continue to support the team’s efforts as it chases the NHRA Harley-Davidson Drag Racing Series 2013 Championship.

“Were very proud to be associated with Kevin Boyer and the team he has put together for the 2013 race season,” said Harold Parfett, President and CEO ACE Manufacturing.

With the focus on winning races against the best top fuel nitro Harley racers in the country, KBR has brought on veteran race engineer Mike Kloeber to assist with tuning the ACE / KBR top fuel Harley drag bike. Kloeber is a 20-plus year veteran of the sport of nitro drag racing and has worked with many of the top names in drag racing including Don Prudhomme, Tom McEwen and Ed McCulloch.

“I have been a fan of Nitro Harley’s going back to my IHRA Top Fuel days,” said Kloeber. “The Harley guys ask lots of questions about the big show cars, the fuel and clutch systems. I’ve always been intrigued with the nature of the Nitro Harley. The potential for improvement in the Nitro Harley is enormous. Adapting existing technology with a little innovation there’s no telling what performance barriers will be broken this season. I’m going to enjoy working with the Harley. It’s a whole new frontier to explore.”

In Richmond where the team failed to qualify for Sunday’s eliminations against one of the strongest field of top fuel Harleys, Boyer remarked, “We certainly faced some unexpected challenges in Richmond and the crew did a great job in prepping the ACE / KBR top fuel Harley drag bike and I am confident we will have all the issues behind us as we get ready for Norwalk”.
