Story by Frank Wood- Belfountain, Ontario’s Kenny Reidmann made some steady progress on his Sturgess Cycle Triumph Daytona 675 this past weekend at the AMA Pro National Championship Series double-header weekend at Road America. Competing in the AMA Pro GoPro Daytona Sportbike class, Reidmann had made steady progress throughout his qualifying opportunities and that progress continued into Saturday morning practice.

The Sturgess Cycle Triumph pit crew called Reidmann in after four laps of warm up to make some adjustments, then three laps later after posting an improved lap time of 2.26:261 and going through the traps at 154.9 mph, he was once again on pit row. After further fine tuning by pit crew Jon Cornwell, John Chemello and dad, Roland, the young Reidmann was once again aboard the Triumph triple and by lap ten had carved his lap time down to 2.25:616 and upped his speed to 155.8 mph. He ended the session confirmed at 21st fastest.

During race one, Reidmann rode a smart race at a steady pace coming to a comfort zone on the Dunlop tires and increasing his knowledge of the track. This approach paid dividends as his personal pace increased to a lap time of 2.25:118 and his finishing position a creditable top twenty.

On Sunday, Reidmann gave the Sturgess Cycle Triumph six laps of lap time in the Sunday morning warm up and satisfied with the setup, set his concentration on the afternoon thirteen lap race ahead.

In the second race of the double header weekend, Reidmann improved on his race pace as he had done throughout the weekend. Working with the Sturgess Cycle crew Kenny bettered his lap time with every on-track appearance including the final race of the weekend where he notched a 2.24:507. In spite of his efforts Reidman slipped in the final standings to twenty-second.

The Sturgess Cycle Triumph team and rider Kenny Reidmann will make their next appearance in the AMA Pro Go-Pro Daytona Sportbike National Championship Series at Barber Motorsports Park June 22-24.
