(Bushell Park, Saskatchewan, Canada) During the month of August the Pacific Coast Mini Roadracing Club (PCMRC) hosted Round 4 of the Canadian National Mini Roadracing Association’s (CNMRA) National Championship Series at the Greg Moore Raceway in Chilliwack, BC as well as Round 5&6 at the Caribou Raceway Park in Quesnel, BC.

The Finn Motorsports team made the annual trek to British Columbia to race at two of the most immaculate and dynamic tracks in all of Canada.

Finn Motorsports Youth Class rider, Matthew Finn, was looking at putting a jumpstart penalty, which resulted in a fourth place finish during Calgary’s Round 3 behind him. Matthew wanted to focus on making clean starts and push to maintain his lead in the national championship points.

Able to get the hole shot, Matthew lead the entire field for the first laps of the race but was unable to fight off a charge for first.  Matthew would have to settle for a solid second place on the podium for Round 4 in Chilliwack. Rounds 5&6 in Quesnel would be bitter sweet for the seven year-old Youth racer. Another strong start allowed Matthew to step onto the top spot on the box with a first place for Round 5 but another jumpstart penalty almost kept him off the podium with a third place finish for Round 6 in Quesnel.

Finn Motorsports senior rider, Jonathan Finn, continued to develop his transition to his bigger bikes with solid qualifying throughout the three rounds in BC. Competing in the Spec Formula & Formula Thunder classes against teenagers and adults, 10 year-old Jonathan continued to learn as much as possible each lap to get the bikes performing and for the benefit of his own experience. It was in Quesnel during Round 6 that Jonathan was able to challenge for a place on the podium with a solid third place finish in the Formula Thunder class.

The Finn Motorsports team would return to Saskatchewan with good momentum heading in to the last two rounds of the CNMRA series at Martensville Speedway and Stratotech Park.

Finn Motorsports would like to acknowledge and say thank you to our sponsors for their continued support the Finn Motorsports team which allows us to compete at the national level. We would like to say thank you for the special efforts of Canadian Tire Moose Jaw, Lucas Oil Products Inc., Cruisers Collision & Custom Moose Jaw, NGK Spark Plugs Canada, JT Sprockets, Moose Jaw Ford, DECAL Works, Mike Rempel & Minimob Racing, Brian Ens & Big B Racing, Defy All Odds Apparel and John Bickle & Bickle Racing.
