(Bushell Park, Saskatchewan, Canada) Finn Motorsports riders, Jonathan and Matthew Finn, arrived at the Martensville Speedway Labour Day weekend for the final round of the 2012 Canadian National Mini Road Racing Association Championship hosted by the Sask Mini Roadracing Association (SMRA).

Jonathan, having secured his second National Youth Championship during the previous round, was looking for the top spot on the podium to complete his perfect season.  Unfortunately a mountain biking accident the week previous would keep the newly crowned 2012 Canadian National Youth Champion in the paddock. This turn of events would allow Matthew to get out from underneath the shadow of his older brother for the final national round of 2012.

The young Saskatchewan rider capitalized on the opportunity and came out of the paddock quickest throughout practice as well as during the SMRA traditional “Plank Qualifying” round securing his first pole position. Able to continue this momentum, Matthew was able to get the hole shot and maintain a commanding lead over the other riders right from the start and capture his first national win!

The Round 7 podium presentations marked the end of race weekend, but also put a close on Finn Motorsports most successful season with Jonathan as the 2012 National Youth Champion & Matthew as National Runner-up. Congratulations to both riders! The team will continue to ride and test at the remaining track days with their home club as well as begin preparations for the 2013 season.

This off-season will be made even more special for Finn Motorsports as the team is anxiously awaiting the safe return of one of their team members who has been serving in Afghanistan as part of NATO Training Mission for the past 9 months.  Finn Motorsports would like to thank all of that have helped change tires, lube chains, check that helmets were properly fastened, and everything else on and off the track that has helped Jonathan, Matthew and Christina continue as normal in the absence of their father and husband. Thank you.

Finn Motorsports would like to thank all of our sponsors Lucas Oil Products Inc., NGK Spark Plugs Canada, Canadian Tire Moose Jaw, Quiznos Moose Jaw, and WOW Factor Media.  Also, we would like to thank CNMRA Series Sponsors Parts Canada and Inside Motorcycles Magazine. A special thank you goes out to our friend Brian Ens for all your help and support.

Jonathan Finn would like to thank the contributing sponsors of the 2012 Peter Lenz Forever 45 Scholarship including Arai Helmets, Misti Hurst & the California Superbike School, Held Gloves USA, Impact Safe-T Armor, Performance Under Gear (PUG), Pilot Leathers, and Sidi Riding Boots.
