Brantford, ON- Jordan Szoke competed in his second motorcycling event since his disastrous fall during the Sparrow Lake Observed Trials event in August of this season.  Multiple fractures of his right thumb left him facing months of rehabilitation after surgery was performed to piece his appendage back together.

“I figured one of the best ways to rehab this, was to get back on the bike as soon as I could,” said Szoke. “Manipulating the controls, particularly on a trials motorcycle, is so second nature its seems to be the best way to get it moving.”

The last CMA-sanctioned event was held Sunday, October 19 at the picturesque area of Lions Head located along the shores of the Georgian Bay along the Bruce Peninsula.  The Elgin County Trials Association hosts the final event of the season amidst sunny skies and brisk temperatures.

Szoke started his first loop in fine fashion, cleaning the first few sections until he put his foot down after he stalled his bike, picking up five points and instantly putting him out of the running for the win.

“I am so mad at myself,” said a frustrated Szoke. “It’s those types of points that are so avoidable.”

Five loops later with 40 sections under his belt, Szoke finished well under the time limit in third place.

“Just to be able to be out here riding and still having fun is why we came.  I’m pumped to even be here and this is a win for me,” smiled Szoke. “There’s lots of time left in the fall to get back out in the bush. I’m excited, and ready.”

Special thanks to Clive and Elaine for hosting this final CMA event.
