During a busy Saturday at circuit Enzo e Dino Ferrari in Imola, Italy, World Superbike series organizers Infront Motor Sports announced that Eni is the new title sponsor and official supplier for the FIM Superbike World Championship series. ISA, the International Sports Agency, brokered the new title sponsorship agreement.
Eni, well known to many race fans by their former name of Agip, changed over to Eni branding at the start of 2010. Eni operates in 79 countries world-wide, and say in the official release that they are “well positioned to maximize on its title Sponsorship on a global level.
Paolo Flammini, CEO of Infront Motor Sports, commented that “we are particularly proud to welcome Eni amongst the sponsors of the FIM Superbike Championship in the role of Title Sponsor. Eni will in fact become the Fuel and Lubricant Supplier of Superbike, Supersport and the Superstock classes.”
Eni branding was visible Saturday afternoon at Imola, and further I.D. items are expected to appear in time for the next European event, round three of the Eni Superbike FIM World Championship, at Assen in the Netherlands on April 22. Eni also has a new two-wheeled related racing web site, the recently launched eniwebracing.com.
