Ted Glinny looks to defend his co-title in 2013

Ted Glinny said he is all set for the upcoming Pro Bike & Sled Series.

“I am ready to do battle,” said Pro Bike rider Glinny, who tied for the championship in 2012 with Pro Sled rider Chris Bondi.

This year marks the third season of this popular series, presented by Wiseco Performance Products.

Riding his 2000 Kawasaki Ninja, which is capable of mid-eight second passes down the quarter mile at 155 to 160 mph, Glinny qualified for all PBSS races and went to three final round passes in 2012. The 1425 cc engine was new last year, and Glinny said nothing major has been done for the new season.

“I have just done some general maintenance,” he offered, “and everything checks out well.”

The FBG chassis of the Glinnja Racing bike is a compromise of a stock front end and moly back-half. The engine is fueled by Letron carburetors and backed by a GPZ 1-2 gearbox.

Glinny said, “I rehired last year’s crew chief Austin Coil – I mean Harry Manovich – to another year’s contract.” The crew includes Jay and Nicole Glinny, and Marty K.

Glinny, who has raced for many years, is hoping to capture some wins this season, but is also realistic when it comes to taking home the gold.

Some wins are in the game plan, he said, “But you know how racing works. Sometimes it’s just out of your hands.”

The 2013 PBSS season kicks off May 10-11 at the US 131 Motorsports Park in Martin, Michigan, one of six events this season.
