Trevor Daley of Mississauga,Ont won the Bazzaz Amatuer Superbike National Championship final in the first round of the Mopar Canadian Superbike Championship held at Shannonville Motorsports Park June 24th 2012. Daley pocketed the $1000.00 contingency payback from Dua Motorsports for his efforts, the first rider of the year to recieve the award.
Mounted on the One Speed/Rider’s Choice/Suzuki GSXR 1000 Daley, who was also the fast qualifier, rode a smart race under adverse conditions and let the wet and slippery conditions take it’s toll. Early race leader Tim Robinson overshot turn eleven and then J.F Aubin fell, handing the lead to Daley.
From the post-race podium Daley smiled broadly as he recieved the large Dua Motorsports cheque. “I rode my own race and tried to play it smart,” he said. “And getting this award, getting this cheque is awsome, I really appreciate it.”
In a surprise announcement after the podium festivities Rahul Dua of Dua Motorsports said if a GoLo Racing, Dua Motorsports rider wins a Superbike final the award will go to the second place rider as well as the winner, bring the total contingency payback to $2000.00
