NOSTALGIA LIVES ON!
The October issue of Inside Motorcycles features the Triumph Bonneville T100 as the cover model to our first nostalgia-focused issue ever!
We all know from riding that it’s a good idea to keep an eye on what’s behind you, and readers will be able to do that in the latest issue. This retro-focused issue will unlock fond memories for our more experienced readers and provide a bit of an education for the newer enthusiasts. Our traditional blend of columns, news, features and racing is still the same, but with an eye to motorcycling’s glory days and how the sport of motorcycling has evolved. We also have some features that put a modern spin on the classics, which is possibly the best combination of all.
“Retro is undeniably cool,” says Managing Editor Graeme Jones in the intro to his review of the Bonneville T100. The current version of the two-wheeled Bonneville legend is meant to evoke all the style and substance of that iconic bike. Does the current Bonneville live up to its proud heritage? Find out in the latest issue of Inside Motorcycles.
The issue also includes Lee Kuhn Sr.’s test of the Harley-Davidson CVO Softail Convertible (right)…Looking for a slightly different take on the modern classic? Then you’ll want to check out our list of other manufacturers’ efforts to bring the glory days into the modern age. Which bikes have the highest ‘Cool Factor’, ‘Respect, ‘Soul’ and ‘Attitude’? Pick up the new issue of Inside Motorcycles to find out.
We wax nostalgically on Doug Hunter’s gorgeous 1973 Norton Commando 850, a bike that looks as good today as it did nearly 40 years ago. John Sharrard goes even deeper, reminding us that for all its advances, the motorcycle hasn’t really changed all that much in 100-plus years…
If you like your nostalgia at a slightly higher speed, Senior Editor Larry Tate catches up with Canadian Superbike ace Rueben McMurter (below), complemented by the photography of fellow Senior Editor Colin Fraser; both gentlemen join ‘The Rueb’ in reliving a classic era of Canadian motorcycle racing… Graham Clayton gives a retrospective on the fearsome sixties Honda RC181 Grand Prix racer ridden by Mike Hailwood… flashing ‘forward to the past’, we report first-hand from the 2012 installment of the Mosport Vintage Festival at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park.
On the modern front, our Inside News pages detail new models from Kawasaki, Harley-Davidson and KTM, while we profile the Canadian-based FOGI Racing Development program and provide a full report from the last three round of the Mopar Canadian Superbike Championship, including Jordan Szoke’s incredible eighth Superbike title…
All of this and, of course, much, much more can be found in the latest issue of Inside Motorcycles!
