SHUBENACADIE, N.S. – K&N Performance Filters Pro Sport Bike points leader Jodi Christie rebounded from a crash on Friday to claim pole position for this weekend’s third round in qualifying on Saturday.

The Keene, Ont. racer recorded a lap at 1:08.380 on his Jodi Christie Racing / Accelerated Technologies Honda CBR600RR to extend his lead over Frank Trombino in the Pro Sport Bike standings. He now has 108 points to Trombino’s 100 heading into Sunday’s race.

Raphael Archambault of Terrebonne, Que. was second quickest with a lap at 1:08.606 on the Team Archambault Racing / Picotte Motorsport / G Suspension Suzuki GSX-R600 and Trombino was third with a 1:08.670 on his Acme Slate / Dua Bodywork / G Suspension Suzuki.

“It took a bit of time to fix up the bike but we soon had it back to perfect,” said Christie, the defending Pro Sport Bike champion. “I’m happy with the way it is now. I don’t think we’ll change anything for tomorrow.”

Archambault thought he could have given Christie a tougher challenge near the end of the session after he altered his line through turn three.

“I found a better line near the end of the session but on my last two laps I screwed up in turn two,” he explained. “But I’m happy. I can’t wait to try it out in practice tomorrow. We may also change the tire pressure on the rear – drop it to get more traction.”

The front row for Sunday’s race is completed by local ace Ron Munroe of Beaver Bank, N.S., who recorded a time of 1:10.032 on his Freedom Cycle / Beta CNC Technologies / Podium One Kawasaki ZX-6R.

Maritime riders annexed the second row of the grid for Sunday’s Pro Sport Bike race, with Upper Coverdale, N.B.’s Caleb Noiles fifth on a Kawasaki ZX-6R ahead of the Suzuki GSX-R600 of Milford, N.S.’s Richard Thompson and Baddeck, N.S.’s Paul Whitehead on a Honda CBR600RR.
