Do you know an individual who has achieved excellence in the Canadian motorcycling community? The Canadian Motorcycle Hall of Fame is now accepting nominations for the seventh Annual Canadian Motorcycle Hall of Fame Induction Banquet and Reunion scheduled to take place in Montreal on Saturday, November 3, 2012.
The event honours the women and men who have achieved excellence in one or more competitive disciplines and the individuals or organizations who have made a significant contribution to the well-being, advancement or general positive image of motorcycling in Canada.
While nominations are accepted from accross Canada, the 2012 awards aim to see inductuctees from Quebec and Atlantic Canada. According to Chair Kellee Irwin, “With this first visit of the Canadian Motorcycle Hall of Fame Induction Banquet and Reunion to Montreal, we are keen to add more to the Canadian Motorcycle Hall of Fame’s distinguished roster of inductees from Quebec and Atlantic Canada. Though the Canadian Motorcycle Hall of Fame Selection Committee will accept nominations from across Canada, we are actively collaborating with our member federations and urging the motorcycling community in Quebec and Atlantic Canada to nominate their motorcycling legends, champions and heroes as soon as possible.”
The Canadian Motorcycle Hall of Fame is the annual signature event of the Canadian International Motorcycle Heritage Museum Foundation, a non-profit association with charitable status. It is governed by an independent board of volunteer directors located from coast to coast and is sponsored in part by the Motorcyclists Confederation of Canada (MCC). Founded by Bar and Hedy Hodgson in 1999, the Canadian International Motorcycle Heritage Museum Foundation preserves and promotes Canadian motorcycle history for the benefit of the motorcycling community and public. Since the first induction banquet in Toronto in 2006, 74 distinguished motorcyclists have been inducted into the Canadian Motorcycle Hall of Fame.
Nominations must be submitted no later than March 31, 2012. Questions about the nomination process should be sent to Daniel H. Tessier at daniel@motorcycling.ca or at 647.920.1334.
