CALGARY, Alta. – Calgary will host for the first time Red Bull Rocks & Logs, a head-to-head competition taking place on a course filled with natural and man-made obstacles. Competitors will battle on a tough off-road style track that goes over logs, rocks, and other challenging obstacles. On May 25 at 5:00pm MDT, pro and amateur riders will take on the custom course and battle for the title of Red Bull Rocks & Logs Champion.
Red Bull Rocks & Logs is an endurocross competition that will take place on a course filled with a variety of natural and manmade obstacles. Competing in a head-to-head, knockout format, 136 top riders will take to the track – divided by class.
Professional off-road racer Shane Cuthbertson (Airdrie, Alta.) designed and built a custom track, taking elements from enduros and hare scrambles from around the world to the Wild Rose MX Park.
The 112 riders in the Amateur category will have four laps in their qualifying heats and six final laps to determine the champion. In the Pro category, the 24 riders will do four laps in qualifying heats and then eight laps in the big finals. The top six winners will in each category will share a prize purse totaling $8,550.
Registration is now open via www.redbull.ca/rocksandlogs for all competitors 18 years of age and older – skill required. Cost per rider is $55 for the amateur category (112 riders maximum) and $70 for pros (24 riders maximum). The registration fee includes a rider welcome package, track entrance fee, and race insurance (waiver to be signed on-site).
