CALGARY, Alta. – The countdown to the 2013 Calgary Motorcycle Show has begun. The industry’s premiere event returns to the BMO Centre, Stampede Park, January 4-6, and will showcase the new line-up of 2013 motorcycles, scooters and ATVs from all the major manufacturers. Doors open on Friday, January 4 at noon.

This is the first opportunity of the season for show goers to see not only the new 2013 models, but motorcycle enthusiasts can check out the wide range of exciting exhibits and features, plus the latest in apparel, accessories, touring destinations and much more – all under one roof.

“The launch of the new model motorcycles, scooter and ATVs is always highly anticipated by riders and enthusiasts in and around the Calgary area, but this year’s Show promises to be much more than just a showcase; it is a fun filled event that the whole family can enjoy”, said Laurie Paetz, Show Manager.

The 2013 Calgary Motorcycle Show kicks off in grand style on Friday, January 4 with SHE RIDES NITE. This female friendly evening provides ladies a discounted admission price after 5:00pm, in addition to a number of ladies only features, demonstrations, educational experiences and prizes. The evening is a celebration of women who ride, or are considering taking up the sport.

The Yamaha Kids Riding Academy continues to be a family favourite. This is a one of a kind opportunity for kids aged 6-12 to receive an introduction to off-road riding right at the Show. Under the supervision of certified instructors participants will receive instruction, get geared up in the latest safety equipment and then take to the track on a Yamaha off-road motorcycle.

Throughout the weekend the Corral will play host to the Extreme Freestyle Show starring an impressive roster of some of Canada’s most talented MXF riders along with Team Empire featuring Ernie “EDUB” Vigil and Nick “Apex” Brocha. They will wow audiences with their unique brand of stunt riding. Be sure to check the Freestyle show times, you don’t want to miss out on the heart stopping, jaw dropping action.

If your love of motorcycles stems from the old classics then the Canadian Vintage Motorcycle Club exhibit is a must stop. Many of the makes and models on display date back to the early 1900’s and have been restored, collected and admired by their owners for decades. This impressive collection of vintage bikes, many of which have significant historic value, is sure to spark the wannabe collector in all of us.

Produced by Power Sport Services, the Calgary Motorcycle Show boasts an impressive line-up of manufacturers, including Arctic Cat, BMW Motorrad, Can-Am/BRP, Ducati, Harley-Davidson, Honda, Kawasaki, KTM, Polaris, Suzuki, Triumph, Victory and Yamaha.
