@onespeedracing • @YamahaMotorCa •@cdnsuperbike • (April 4, 2016)- It is with great excitement and enthusiasm that Trevor Daley has officially loaded the final ‘round in the chamber’ and is ready to announce his plans for the 2016 Mopar Canadian Superbike race season.

With the opening round at Shannonville Motorsports Park of the CSBK championship now less than two months away, bike preparation is in full swing at the OneSpeed Chop Shop (Trevor Daley’s motorcycle fabrication shop) in Mississauga Ontario. The difficult and injury plagued 2015 race season that saw Trevor fall from holding the #2 plate in the nation for 2014 to national #5 by year end, has sparked not only new focus for Trevor as a rider but several changes in his program as well.

The biggest change this year is Trevor will be switching shades of blue and is very excited to confirm that he will be riding the YZF-R1M with support from Yamaha Motors Canada. The pole sitting debut of the Yamaha R1 last year for the final two rounds at CTMP (Canadian Tire Motorsports Park) was not missed by his fans, nor was it overlooked by riders in the paddock.

“I am very excited to be riding the Yamaha Motors Canada-supported R1 this year” Trevor says with a grin that is hard to hide. “Over the few years that I have raced motorcycles, I have not yet experienced the power, precision and control that everyone who I’ve spoken with regarding the Yamaha, has said it has. Seeing the bike’s dominant debut last year in the Moto-America series, and racing it head to head for many laps the final two rounds of the CSBK championship last year, has me feeling very confident that I will able to achieve great results this year on the Yamaha.”

Brooklin Cycle Racing, who has a checkered flag-cloaked past working with the Yamaha brand, is in the final stages of preparation of Trevor’s engines. Lead tech, Rob Eagan will be squeezing out some serious power and will be dialing in all the electronic advantages the R1M has to offer on their in house dyno.

The extensive in house and on track development Hindle exhaust has done has resulted in countless Canadian Pro superbike class championships. Trevor hopes to help add his name to the list of champions that started with Canadian motorcycle racing legend and company founder, Lang Hindle. Trevor is very pleased to be campaigning Hindle exhausts on his bike this season.

With many changes on deck for this coming year, a key attribute to Trevor’s race program will stay the same. Mechanic and tuner, Dave Weaver who joined Trevor at round 2 of last year’s championship will be back for the 2016 season, missing only and ironically round 2 this year, due to a previous commitment.

Dave, who also owns a performance based motorcycle shop located in Orlando Fl. (Full Spectrum Racing) brings a wealth of knowledge and experience from working in some of the most leading edge and competitive series across the globe. Dave came on board Trevor’s program in 2015 highly recommended from Jon Cornwell. Jon, like Dave is a world renouned motorcycle race mechanic and is someone Trevor has always trusted for advice. Whether it’s Ohlins suspension tuning tips on the grid, or riding secrets over a game of cribbage, Jon helping with the re-accusation of Dave’s professionalism and knowledge will complement and greatly boost the rest of this year’s race program.

Trevor will be riding with support from Motovan.com in 2016, using many of their premium parts and gear brands. Five gloves, TCX boots and Support from Shoei Helmets (distributed by Motovan in Canada) are just some of the products Trevor will be racing with when it comes to apparel.

Trevor says, “You don’t get labeled ‘The Wild Man’ by Frank Wood, series announcer and the voice of CSBK on TSN this year, for nothing, and I have always been one to push and test my limits. Any rider and racer knows the inevitable line gets crossed and to have the confidence knowing that I’m safe and protected wearing my Shoei helmet, five gloves and TCX boots gives me the ability to not have to think twice about going for race wins and I can focus at the task at hand.”

Motovan’s enthusiasm and growing support in Canada’s motorcycle racing scene is exciting and Trevor points out that their national top sales representative Ross Milson, is also a long time competitor in the CSBK championship and events.

“Ross has been a friend and supporter of me since day one in motorcycle racing. In years past that I’ve raced with conflicting brand support, regardless of the colors of my gear, he has always been one to make sure I’m prepared. From the first time I tried on a Shoei helmet he brought me and fell in love with it…to his involvement in making me aware of new performance products such as the new Liquid Molly performance oils, Ross has always been a positive influence in my programs.”

Trevor also adds he is pleased to be wearing Nexo-Sports racing suits from Studio Cycle group. Toronto based Studio Cycle supported Trevor in the 2013 and 2014 racing seasons. Some may remember Trevor’s horrifying qualifying crash in the final 2014 championship round. Trevor returned uninjured for all purposes sake for the next two days of competition to take second in the Pro Superbike Championship and gives credit for his safety to the quality of the brand.

Fans, track marshals, crew and fellow riders alike will be happy knowing that again for 2016, RockStar Energy Canada is supporting Trevor and making sure everyone at the track doesn’t go thirsty and unrefreshed.
