@cdnsuperbike • After what felt like a long, uphill season much like the “Mario Andretti” back straightaway at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park, Trevor headed into the final two rounds of the Mopar CSBK championship at CTMP feeling positive that a great weekend was to come.

The fans were ready for a great show also. CTMP normally bring the largest attendance of all the races on the race schedule and this year was no different.

“It’s always great to be able to meet the fans and people who drive out sport. I am very fortunate to have great support from my marketing partners this year and am able to give something extra back.” Trevor said.

Everybody on hand who stopped by the OneSpeed-Racing pits was excited to get free bags and “noise sticks” from Suzuki Canada as well as check out a 2015 Suzuki GSX-R1000 on display. Rockstar energy drinks and stickers from Rockstar Energy Canada were a favorite along with posters courtesy of Parts Canada.

With no chance of meaningful practice Friday and qualifying not possible due to the rain conditions, Saturday morning’s session had great importance as it became the qualifying session to set the grid for both days of racing. Fifth place in the opening session was due to a great set-up by tuner Dave Weaver and had Trevor excited heading into super-pole

“I felt good with our setup as I entered the track, and was able to get great positioning behind Jordan and Matt McBride for a few hot laps. I put my opening sectors together and as I entered into Turn 5, ran the front tire through some standing water left from the earlier rain. Unfortunately this threw away a strong opportunity to have the Parts Canada / Suzuki Canada GSX-R1000 on the front row and I was only able to manage an eighth place starting position after regaining my composure after a crazy slide”

In the afternoon race, Trevor had a great start, moving to sixth and by mid race was able to catch the lead group. A great battle between five riders took place with Trevor and 2014 National Champion, Jodi Christie going back and forth multiple times for the final podium step. As the checkered flew, Trevor road across the line just 0.7seconds behind race winner Jordan Szoke and 0.068seconds behind Jodi for third place.

Sunday’s race had all the same contenders upfront and started in similar fashion with Trevor slotting into sixth on the first lap. Unfortunately the lead group was several seconds ahead by the time Trevor moved into fifth spot mid race.

“I put my head down and road as hard as I could to catch the lead group. Unlike Saturday’s race, they were passing less, making them harder to reel in. I was able to catch them but had used up my rear tire and a lot of myself in doing that. Unfortunately I made a mistake, losing the front in “Moss’s corner” only a few laps later.

Trevor re-entered the race, climbing back to eighth. With 2two laps to go, a mechanical failure ended Trevor’s day and the 2015 season. Ending the weekend and the race season with only Trevor’s second DNF in four years of racing was unfortunate but was just a dark spot on what was mostly a positive weekend.

In a race season mired by injury, as in years past at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park, Trevor showed his speed and potential and that he is able to put the Parts Canada Suzuki powered by Yoshimura Research and Development USA and Rockstar Energy Canada up front, running pace with lead group and able to fight for race wins. With a long offseason to heal and rebuild strength in both broken hands and broken wrist sustained only 2 months ago, the future only looks bright.

Trevor and OneSpeed Racing are grateful of the support from the fans and 2015 Partners – Parts Canada, Suzuki Canada, Yoshimura Research and Development USA, Rockstar Energy Canada, Alpinestars, HJC Helmets, Brooklin Cycle Racing, Bickle Tire Warmers, Great Gulf, Hero Demo, Core Excavation, Dunlop tires, Pro6cycle, Reid’s Roofing, Dave Weaver and Moto-mod suspension by Cornwell.
