Royal Enfield is celebrating 125 years of motorcycling history with a ride across one of the world’s most iconic roads: Route 66.
Under the banner “125 YEARS IN MOTION.”, Royal Enfield will take the 2026 Classic 650 125th Anniversary Edition on a 2,400-mile journey from Chicago to Santa Monica, riding the full length of the historic Route 66. The ride marks a milestone for Royal Enfield, while coinciding with the 100th anniversary of Route 66, bringing together two lasting icons of motorcycling history.
Departing Chicago on the 27th August, the journey will unfold as a relay, with an array of content creators taking on four distinct legs of the route. Each rider will bring their own perspective and personality to the road, documenting the experience through short-form content for Royal Enfield North America’s social channels.
The journey begins in Chicago, Illinois, as the ride traverses East to West along Route 66, travelling through eight states before arriving at the Pacific Ocean in Santa Monica, California. Riders are aiming to cover around 500-600 miles each at a leisurely pace, before concluding the ride at the end of the route on September 7th.
This ride celebrates Royal Enfield history by taking the Classic 650 125th Anniversary Edition onto a road that has become synonymous with the American spirit of motorcycling freedom and adventure for the last century.
Throughout the journey, each participant will create original short-form content, giving Royal Enfield riders, enthusiasts and followers an opportunity to experience the ride alongside them. The content will reflect the individual character of each rider while bringing the whole journey to life across Royal Enfield North America’s social channels.
