President’s Update
Greetings,
As December arrives, it’s a great time to slow down and enjoy getting together with friends, family, and our riding community. This season is about connection, reflection, and giving back, values that have always been at the heart of the OFTR.
Our community continues to show how strong and generous it is, whether that’s through volunteering on the trails, supporting local clubs, or taking part in initiatives like the OFTR 50/50 lottery. Funds raised through the 50/50 go directly toward advocacy work and trail funding, helping protect existing riding areas and expand access for the future. Every ticket truly makes a difference.
As the snow starts to fall and our bikes get tucked away for the season, or studs get added for those that have winter trails near them, many of us are already dreaming about spring and summer rides ahead. This quieter time gives us the chance to reflect on what really matters, the relationships we’ve built, the shared memories on the trails, and the sense of belonging that makes this community so special.
On behalf of the OFTR, thank you for your continued support, passion, and dedication. Wishing you and your loved ones a safe, happy holiday season, and we’ll see you on the trails in the New Year.
Joel Castonguay
President, Ontario Federation of Trail Riders
PRESIDENT COUNCIL CONFERENCE UPDATE
The OFTR recently brought club leaders together for our Presidents Council Conference, an important opportunity to connect, collaborate, and move the organization forward together.
Clubs shared key wins and challenges from across the province, participated in productive discussions around governance, and received updates on current advocacy efforts and ongoing issues impacting off-road motorcycling. The conference also created space for brainstorming, productive dialogue, and the sharing of best practices that clubs can take back to their local communities.
These conversations reinforce the strength of our network and the value of working together with a common goal. There was a great deal of energy and optimism coming out of the conference, and we’re excited about this momentum as we look ahead to 2026.
Your RideOFTR Season Trail Pass Will Auto-Renew for 2026 — Here’s What You Need to Know
We’ve made it easier than ever to stay on the trails! If you purchased your 2025 seasonal trail pass through the new RideOFTR store (launched January 20, 2025), your pass will automatically renew for the 2026 season — no need to re-enter your details or make another purchase. Renewals will be processed in early February unless you opt out beforehand.
Why Auto-Renewal?
Auto-renewal was one of the most-requested features by OFTR members, and for good reason:
- Convenience: Your seasonal pass renews automatically before the new riding season, so you’re always covered when the trails open.
- No interruptions: No need to worry about missing renewal deadlines or losing access to club-managed trails.
- Easy to manage: You’ll receive an email notice before renewal — giving you time to review, update payment info, or cancel if you wish.
- Continuous support: Your membership helps fund trail maintenance, advocacy, and land access programs which happen throughout the year to keep riding areas open..
Who It Applies To
Auto-renewal applies to seasonal trail passes purchased through the new RideOFTR store.
If you joined or renewed through our legacy store before January 20, 2025, you’ll need to buy again manually when your pass expires.
If you previously cancelled auto-renewal, then no need for further action
If you didn’t cancel auto-renewal, you’re all set, your membership will automatically renew in early February
How to Prepare for Auto-Renewal
- Check your RideOFTR account: Make sure your email address and payment information are current.
- Watch for your renewal reminder: You’ll receive a notice before your renewal is processed.
- Enjoy worry-free trail access: Once we have successfully processed your auto-renewal you will receive an email confirmation that provides access to your digital trail pass. Your physical trail pass sticker will be sent out before trails open.
Need to Make Changes?
Do you need to update your payment information, change your address or prefer to renew manually? You can make these changes anytime before the renewal date:
1. Log in at the RideOFTR Store
2. Use the Billing and Shipping Address options to modify your address details.
3. Select Payment Options to update your payment information.
4. To disable auto-renewal, click on your RideOFTR trail pass and then choose the Cancel Auto Renewal option.
Note: You must login with the same email address as you used when purchasing your trail pass (same account as used for RideOFTR maps). If you have forgotten your password, you can reset it through the option available during login.
